Introduction to the Library

The library of the University of Saba was opened in conjunction with the establishment of the University in 1994. The library has undergone several developments in terms of increasing the area, number of acquisitions and services provided. In spite of the difficulties experienced by the university, this did not discourage its determination. It firmly established its path, believing that there is a library that serves the local community in particular, researchers and scholars in general, and providing all means to make the university academic success a success. The Library has grown steadily until it has reached this remarkable development in the building, services and acquisitions. The library has a total area of about 600 square meters. It includes thousands of information vessels, including a book, a periodical, a university letter, a manuscript, and audio-visual materials.

The library of the University of Sheba is one of the first and largest university libraries in the capital Sana'a, staffed by a staff of specialists in library science, and with a long experience in this area.

The library's procedures and services have been fully computerized, and the computer has been used throughout the Library's work and direct and indirect services.

In keeping with the need to keep abreast of technological development and the need to facilitate the service of students, employees and researchers, the Library has established an electronic library to be a companion to the paper library.

300 means that the book in science is social

370 Meaning that the book is specialized in education and education

Library Policies
Library collection and processing
Library holdings consist of books, periodicals, references, scientific letters, research papers, newspapers and other paper and non-paper containers, and scientific databases.


Some textbooks are provided for academic courses as much as possible.

A maximum of six copies of a single title will be deposited for non-reference books and three copies of reference books.

Up to two copies of each period are deposited.


A hard copy, and an electronic one, shall be deposited from the approved scientific letters from the University.

A copy of the research and graduate projects of the university students recommended by the discussion committee shall be deposited in the library.

Participation in a number of local and international Arab and foreign journals necessary, and keen to renew the participation as much as possible.

The Technical Procedures Department handles all the information contained in the Central Library and the sub-libraries according to the plans of cataloging, classification, subject headings, periodical inspection, completion of all technical procedures, and sending them to the library's halls according to the consignments signed upon receipt to be made available to the beneficiaries.

All guidance and reference procedures are provided to the beneficiaries, and their questions and inquiries are asked to improve the level of performance and benefit from the available sources of information.

Organizing and arranging the information containers, by placing them in their assigned places according to their subject matter, in accordance with the classification system used to enable the beneficiaries to access the office materials with ease and ease.

The library maintains and periodically bins the paper information containers available in the library to preserve them.

Dedication
Gift books and gifts are accepted according to the library's policies and requirements, and the Mahdis are notified of books that will not be absorbed in the library.

Letters of thanks are sent to individuals and to the library.

In the case of some institutions submitting a formal request for "books," the application is studied by the library administration.

Photography Services
The Photocopying Service is a public service provided by the Library.
Any number of pages of books, periodicals or scientific messages may be photocopied.
The beneficiary pays a certain fee for filming.
Loan services
The following information containers are not allowed outside the library:
Reference books.
Arabic and foreign leagues.
Research and scientific messages.
Special Collections.
Non-paper information containers.
Books placed on the reservation shelf temporarily by the recommendation of professors or library management.
What is recommended by the management of the library based on what is required by the interest of work.
Libraries management has the right to prevent secondment of any book, whether the loan is internal or external if the interest so requires.
It is permissible to loan to university students who are registered in the same semester, and employees at the university, as well as the external beneficiary according to special provisions.
